The FOUNTAIN project is a consortium from different partner countries (Sri Lanka, Thailand, Sweden, Lithuania and Estonia) comprised of 10 Higher Education Institutes, five (05) Universities from Sri Lanka (University of Ruhuna (Lead), University of Peradeniya, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and Horizon College of Business & Technology), two (02) universities from Thailand (Naresuan University and Chiang Mai University) and Three (03) European Universities (Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania and Mid Sweden University, Sweden). It is a grant by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), European Union Erasmus plus program under the call Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education: Strand 2 - Partnerships for transformation in higher education.
FOUNTAIN Project UOP collaboratively organized the special session on Renewable Solutions with Nanotechnology on Wednesday, September 18, 2024!. This session serves as a key platform to explore the transformative role of nanotechnology in driving sustainable energy solutions. It was a great opportunity to expand participant’s understanding of how cutting-edge innovations are shaping a greener future!
The successful stakeholder engagement meeting organized by the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka was held at Horizon Campus, Malabe, on September 5, 2024. The event brought together key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and meaningful discussions to drive forward our shared goals and initiatives.
The First International Conference on University-industry Collaborations for Sustainable Development (ICSD 2024) or ‘The Colombo Conference’ is a successful outcome of the FOUNTAIN project. FOUNTAIN explores the challenges of University-Industry Partnerships in Asian Universities, highlighting gaps in research, innovation outcomes, and collaborations. As a result, ICSD 2024 aims to promote sustainable solutions, innovative technologies, and entrepreneurial strategies in industries. It will enhance university curricula, strengthen business links, and foster invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship by fostering business start-ups and promoting environmental conservation.
Inauguration of The Colombo Conference was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on 15th March 2024 and the sessions were successfully completed on March 16 and 17, 2024, at the gap HQ, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Many local and international researchers, professionals, students, and industry people got a great opportunity to share their knowledge, experience, and ideas with the participants
