February 28, 2024 – NU Fountain team organized a workshop on entrepreneurial competencies, employing the four-stage framework suggested by the FOUNTAIN project. These stages, integral to the study of Student Entrepreneurial Competencies (SECs), encompassed the preliminary stage, the presentation stage, the fieldwork stage, and the assessment stage. The workshop were designed akin to a business competition.

The assessment of SECs comprised five key dimensions: opportunity recognition, opportunity assessment, risk management/risk mitigation, creative problem solving, and value creation. Three distinct student groups emerged, characterized as follows: Group 1 comprised first-year students from the Industrial Engineering Program, Group 2 comprised third-year students from a mix of Industrial Engineering, Material Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programme, while Group 3 comprised fourth-year Industrial Engineering students.

Participants engaged in a business game simulation involving the “Heart Papercraft” factory, tailored to analyze diverse SECs assessment approaches across the three groups. Fourteen participants were selected for each group, and the entrepreneurial competencies of students were evaluated both before and after the workshop sessions.
