The E4.1 Workshop on Internship Programs and Curricula and the 4th Steering Committee Meeting on “Fostering Sustainable University-Industry Techno-Entrepreneurial Collaborations and Innovations in Asian Universities” (FOUNTAIN) was successfully held from 1st to 3rd October 2024 in Tallinn, Estonia. Hosted by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), the event aimed to enhance internship programs and curricula while reviewing the progress of key work packages, including the establishment of a Center of Excellence. Participants engaged in sessions on internship curriculum development, industry cooperation, and bridging research innovation with industry. The event also included a tour of TalTech’s state-of-the-art campus, recognized for its leadership in science, technology, and innovation, as well as interactive discussions on Estonia’s innovation ecosystem. A field trip around Tallinn city showcased the city’s smart urban innovations. TalTech, known for advancing digital solutions through its TalTech Digital initiative, has positioned itself as a global leader in smart city innovations and sustainable development. As Estonia’s most international university, with 16% of its nearly 10,000 students from over 100 countries, TalTech continues to foster global collaborations in education, research, and entrepreneurship. The Smart City Centre of Excellence, established in 2020, further underscores TalTech’s commitment to transforming its campus into one of the smartest in the world. TalTech’s global impact is highlighted by its ranking of 621–630 in the QS World University Rankings 2024.
