The “Innovations in Action: Transforming Agriculture with Drones” workshop was successfully held on 10 February 2026 at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna. Jointly organized by the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Technology and the FOUNTAIN Project – University of Ruhuna Team, in collaboration with SULECO Pvt. Ltd., the event brought together Agriculture Officers and technical professionals from the Southern Province to explore the latest applications of drone technology in modern agriculture.

The workshop featured expert presentations, live drone demonstrations, and hands-on sessions covering crop monitoring, precision spraying, advanced sensing technologies, and data-driven farm management. The event strengthened participants’ knowledge of smart agricultural practices while promoting innovation, sustainability, and stronger university–industry collaboration in the agricultural sector.
