The Second International Conference on University-Industry Collaborations for Sustainable Development (ICSD 2025), widely known as the Colombo Conference, was held on May 9–10, 2025, at gapHQ, Colombo 07, under the FOUNTAIN and SECRA projects. Coordinated by the University of Peradeniya, the event brought together academics, researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals to explore innovations and partnerships that drive sustainable development.

The event commenced with a prestigious opening ceremony featuring distinguished guests, including Prof. Emeritus Ranjith Dissanayake, the Chief Guest, and Eng. Namal Peiris, and keynote speaker Prof. Guttila Jayasinghe. The ceremony set the tone for a day dedicated to bridging the gap between academic research and industry needs.

The first day featured physical technical sessions and a high-level Global Agro-Industry Forum, while the second day was dedicated to fully online technical presentations, expanding global participation.

The conference facilitated the presentation of over 150 research papers and case studies across key themes such as climate-smart agriculture, agro-industrial transformation, and digital innovation. ICSD 2025 strengthened the platform for university-industry-government collaboration and reaffirmed the role of academic networks in achieving national and global sustainability goals.
