Senior Professor R.M.U.S.K. Rathnayaka – Project Advisor from SUSL
He is presently serving as the Vice Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL). Prior to this position, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, SUSL. Serves as a Senior Professor in Food Microbiology BSc (Hons) in Agriculture (UoR, Sri Lanka), MSc in Biotechnology (PGIA, UoP, Sri Lanka), PhD in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology (AIT, Thailand), attached to the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences, SUSL. Highly competent in teaching and, research professional rich with global experience. Academic recognitions he has achieved include the ‘Most outstanding young researcher award in the field of Biology by The World Academy of Science and National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka in 2015’, and the ‘Most outstanding young researcher award in the field of Biology including Agriculture and Allied Sciences in 2014 awarded by the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) Sri Lanka, He has been publishing in top 10% journals. He is an excellent communicator with writing, research and analytical skills, able to claim international and national research projects. As the chief administrator of SUSL he has introduced and implemented novel initiatives in the university that foster networking and collaboration among academia, industry and innovations.
Professor E.P.N. Udayakumara – Project Manager of SUSL Team
He is presently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, SUSL. Professor in Soil Science and Environmental Management BSc (Hons) in Agriculture (UoR, Sri Lanka) MSc in Forestry and Environmental Management (USJP, Sri Lanka), PhD in Natural Resources Management, AIT (Thailand), attached to the Department of Natural Resources, Faculty of Applied Sciences, SUSL. Highly competent teacher and a research professional rich with global experience. He is also an excellent communicator with writing, research, and analytical skills. Expertise range from Soil Science and Hydrology, Soil Erosion and Conservation, Environmental Economics, Forestry and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Have secured several international and national research grants including those from the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE), Rainforest Alliance (RFA), and the National Research Council of Sri Lanka. A key facilitator for university–industry and, and university-research organization collaborations.
Dr. L.D. Lekamge – Project Member of SUSL Team
She is presently serving as a Senior lecturer in Environmental Sciences BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management (SUSL, Sri Lanka), MPhil (Environmental Sciences) (SUSL, Sri Lanka), PhD in Energy and Environment (NUT, Japan), attached to the Department of Natural Resources, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL). Possesses more than 12 years of teaching experience. Research interests include Environmental Management, Sustainable Consumption and Production, Climate Change Adaptation, and Environmental Governance. Actively involved in stakeholder relationships of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, SUSL, and key events of the university such as conferences.
Mr. W.A.M.P. Senadheera – Project Member of SUSL Team
He is presently serving as the Acting Bursar of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. He holds a BBMgt (Hons) in Accountancy (UoK, Sri Lanka), and Referred in Final I, CA Sri Lanka. Professional experience in Accountancy for 20+ years. Possesses excellent capabilities in financial management.
Ms. G.I. Dias – Project Member of SUSL Team
She has completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Food Science and Technology and is currently reading for PhD. Presently serving as the Assistant Registrar to the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Secretary to the strategic planning Unit of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) and Centre for Quality Assurance (SUSL), and a Visiting lecturer of Centre for Open and Distance learning of SUSL. Possesses 6+ years’ experience in food product development research and her research interests include sensory science, food waste utilization, and functional food product development. Possesses previous experience as a team member for SPIRIT Erasmus+ project.
